Flixton Manor Now Has an On-Site Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator

Big news! Flixton Manor now has an on-site Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator

As a Manchester nursing home dedicated to providing our residents with optimal care in all situations, our purchase of a Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator is yet another example of the dedication and duty of care that we are synonymous with across the region.

Having already been awarded the gold standard in basic life support training courses, we at Flixton Manor wanted to make sure that our care home is equipped with the foremost medical technology needed to deal with medical emergencies. We view the acquisition of a Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator as a necessary purchase to help our residents in times of mortal emergency.

Renowned as the requisite defibrillator for use by trained medical professionals and those with little or no experience in life-saving situations, the Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator is firmly fixed at the apex of life-saving technology. Able to be used by those with minimal or zero life-saving training, this new defibrillator can be used by the first person on the scene of a cardiac arrest.

What’s the benefit to this? Anyone will be able to administer swift treatment to residents who suffer cardiac arrest. The Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator is made using the same technology as hospital AED’s – enabling us to provide optimal levels of medical care to our residents.

Yet further evidence of our commitment to placing patient care above care home costs, we’re pleased that the care home is now equipped with a technology that will help us save lives.

The Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator In Detail

The progressive technology of our new defibrillator mirrors the progressive ethos of our Manchester nursing home. Voice and picture illustrations for AED and CPR provide succinct, easy-to-understand operational instructions. Clear and calm guidance is given throughout the defibrillation process, assessing patients, advising on how to open airways and apply the defibrillator pads.

Once this has been completed, the Lifepak CR Plus Defibrillator will detect the heart rhythm and deliver a shock if needed. This is all completed without any required interaction with the defibrillator itself. A clear commentary is provided at every stage, and there a no buttons to push.

QUIK-PAK electrodes are pre-connected, easy to open and apply, saving much time in an emergency. Moreover, the defibrillator requires little maintenance and is quick and easy to recharge. A highly visible indicator shows when the defibrillator is ready to use, leaving our staff under no illusion over when and how to use the device.

Featuring ADAPTIV biphasic technology, the defibrillator automatically analyses patient needs and adjusts the energy used. If, on the initial shock, the heart does not respond, the defibrillator will automatically increase the energy to a maximum of 360 joules which is then transmitted to the body through Latex-free electrodes.

This device is a proud addition to our Manchester nursing home. We believe that it has the potential to further bolster the already exemplary patient care we deliver – and help us to response and administer treatment quicker than ever before.
