We are happy to announce our new loop hearing aid system that has just been wired into our day room. The system allows residents with hearing aids to tune into the television and enjoy their programs with clear and crisp sound. We installed this system after a request from one of our residents and he’s very happy now that it’s up and running.
The hearing loop system is a fantastic way to improve the quality of life for people who are hearing impaired. Unfortunately a report from the BBC showed that many businesses are not doing enough to ensure that they have loop systems installed and the businesses that do have them, often do not even have them switched on. This is such a shame considering that they are not expensive to install and can offer a real benefit to the hearing impaired. We at Flixton Manor want to change this and our investment in our loop system is our way of promoting the technology. We truly hope that more businesses adopt and use the loop system and especially in care homes where many elderly residents have hearing impairments. It is also the responsibility of people hard of hearing to request loop systems as this will help business owners to take the initiate and either install or get their own system working. With out the request made from our residents, we would not have known about the system and we thank them for helping us to improve our home and the quality of life for future residents who rely on the system.
